Making your dreams concrete

It was this time last year that we changed our company name to Elematic. One name, one brand; the aim was to unify our operations and to strengthen our position on the world market.

This dream of ours seems to have come true on many levels, as we frequently receive positive word from our customers, who now even more than before feel that they are part of the same family. We promised then to make also your dreams concrete. To this end we have done many significant things during the past year. We have launched a number of new products. Our R&D has been reorganized as an independent unit within the company to keep us on the cutting edge of development and to better respond to the requirements of our customers. Last spring, we displayed our products and services at BAUMA 2004, where our mini-seminars were a huge success. As the year progressed, we took yet another step in bringing our services closer to our customers by opening an office in Dubai, UAE. By acquiring Roteco GmbH, we gained more valuable knowledge on the slipforming technology, with which we can realize even your most creative dreams in this sector of the industry. During the coming year, we plan to launch several novelties and introduce them at numerous fairs and events, which you can view conveniently on our web site www.elematic.com. You can look forward to innovations such as a Maturity Control System for hollow-core slab production, additions to our famous shuttering and magnet family, new wear part materials, as well as software solutions for production and enterprise resource planning. We are also projecting a new material for Acotec walls, new solutions for carousel lines, and container-based mixing stations. All in all, next year looks both exciting and promising. The prices of steel and energy have risen considerably this year, and are predicted to level off in 2005. However, the price of raw materials will still remain higher than before, providing the precast concrete industry with a competitive edge over, for example, cast-in-situ building methods or steel building. In the light of these realities, I believe that growth will continue and we will see increasing investments also in the precast industry sector. So it is in an optimistic spirit that I wish you all a Happy New Year and many new dreams to come concrete. Leo Sandqvist Managing Director
