Making your dreams concrete

Mr. Leo SandqvistIt was this time last year that we changed our company name to Elematic. One name, one brand; the aim was to unify our operations and to strengthen our position on the world market. This dream of ours seems to have come true on many levels, as we frequently receive positive word from our customers, who now even more than before feel that they are part of the same family.

We promised then to make also your dreams concrete. To this end we have done many significant things during the past year.

Self-Compacting Concrete - the substance of future dreams

The use of Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) in the precast industry is gaining an increasing amount of attention due to the many benefits that may be gained from its properties. These affect product quality, the working environment, architectural design possibilities, and overall economics.

SCC is a concrete mixture that includes water-reducing admixtures that significantly increase the workability and fluidity of the material. As a result, it flows quickly into place, fills every corner of a mold and allows perfect compacting around the densely located reinforcement.

Ferrobeton Rt in Hungary:
Small-scale investment resulted in big success

In 1998, Ferrobeton Rt. stood at a crossroads. The mould-cast hollow-core slabs that they had been producing so far, no longer met the demands of the construction market. Foreign investors required high-quality, modern flooring products with longer spans and higher load-bearing capacity.  Ferrobeton tackled the situation by first acquiring only the key components of a new production technology, so keeping the initial investment at a minimum. They set as a goal to retain their market share of 40 000 m2 of hollow-core products during the first year. The result exceeded expectations: with the acquired Elematic technology, first year sales reached 60 000 m2.
